Lisbon Oceanarium
The Oceanário de Lisboa is the second largest aquarium in Europe, behind the L'Oceanogràfic in Valencia. In its habitat, more than 15,000 living beings from more than 450 different species coexist.
The building in which it is located is one of the most striking of the Park of Nations. It is "floating" in the water and is accessed by walkways. During the Expo was called Ocean Pavilion and was one of the most popular.
The Oceanário building has two floors and everything revolves around a large central aquarium. Making the visit in the indicated order you will visit the marine species of the different oceans. On the top floor you will see animals and plants on the surface, while in the lower are marine species from the depths.
The central aquarium is possibly the most striking of the Oceanarium, since it contains hundreds of species living together: sharks, rays, mantas and tropical fish are some of its inhabitants.
A good place to go with kids
If you are traveling with children the Oceanário is an essential visit, there is also a family ticket with which you get a small discount.
