Belém
Far from the center but very well communicated, downstream where the Tagus merges with the sea, is the neighborhood of Belém. Neighborhood from where the Portuguese explorers departed that gave so much glory to Portugal, conquering much of the world.
In Belém there are two essential jewels of Lisbon: the Monastery of the Jerónimos and the Tower of Belém. Other points of interest are also the Monument to the Discoverers, the 25 de Abril Bridge and the National Car Museum.
And before returning to the center let's not forget to stop on the way to taste their famous freshly made cupcakes inside the large factory that is the old factory.
Arrive in Belém
To go to Belém the most comfortable is to move to the Plaza del Comercio. Once there, take tram 15 at Cais do Sodré station. We will be amazed at the large number of travelers that go to Bethlehem.
On the tram, pay close attention to the pickpockets. This line is the place of Lisbon where more thefts are produced.
Arriving in Belém by boat
The most interesting way to reach this neighborhood that opens Lisbon to the Atlantic, however, is to take a boat in the river station and enjoy during the journey of magnificent views of Lisbon.
